Here is a list of upcoming events around De

Easter Egg Hunt--
Children of the area are invited to participate in a huge egg hunt with
the Easter Bunny. The event is held the Saturday before Easter each
year. For information, contact event chairman Patty Sharp at 870-642-2212.
Senior Citizens Day -- This
annual celebration to honor the contributions of those age 55 and older is
held each May on the Friday before Memorial Day. This year's celebration
will be May 2 2
Tri-Lakes Bass Tournament--This annual
tournament is held Memorial Day weekend. Anglers fish their choice of
De Queen, Dierks or Gillham lakes competing for over $11,000 in cash and

This
patriotic celebration will feature a fireworks display on the Third of July. For more information, contact the City of De Queen at
870-584-3445.
Hoo-Rah Days Festival -- This
event, held each year on the second weekend of October, celebrates the birth
of the City of De Queen in 1897 and features a "turn-of-the-century" theme.
Costumes, arts and crafts, motorcycle show, contests, craft demonstrations.
The event is hosted by the Sevier County Historical Society Museum. For more

Annual Festival of Lights -- The
Sevier County Courthouse in downtown De Queen glows with thousands of lights
each Christmas. Lights outline the courthouse and gazebo on the square. For information, contact

Annual Christmas Parade -- A
regular event on the first weekend in December each year. Floats, bands and
antique cars parade through downtown De Queen. Parades are held in
Lockesburg and Horatio and timed so that parade lovers can be in all three
