The De Queen Sevier County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, June 29th to welcome L J Marine as a new member. 

L J Marine, owned by Wayne and Jody McCarrell, has been operating in De Queen since 1982 and located at 1828 Hwy 70 West since 1985.  The McCarrell’s granddaughter Megan Lee-Smith is the general manager. 

Wayne was been selected as one of the top dealers in the USA, when he was located in Arlington, Texas and was the first dual dealer to ever be selected for Mercury Congress.  Wayne has been dealing with outboard motors and boats for over 50 years, making him one of the most experienced mechanics in several states around.  L J Marine is one of the largest salvage dealers in the South Central area and has sales nationwide reaching from the north border to the south border and the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific.  If you need something and they don’t have it, they guarantee they can find it. 

Megan says, “The coffee pot is always ready and we invite you to come see us for your boating and motor needs.”

 

 

Tio’s Mexican Grill

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday, June 25th at Tio’s Mexican Grill, 904 West Collin Raye Drive in De Queen to welcome owners, Julio and Melissa Morales as new members.  Tio’s has only been in De Queen for a few weeks, but they already have loyal customers who appreciate their Mexican and American cuisine and excellent service.  They have fresh tableside guacamole, yellow & white cheese dip, made-to-order limeades and all their platters are fresh and prepared made to order.   Tio’s is open Sunday thru Thursday from 11 am until 9 pm and until 10 pm Friday and Saturday.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at La Perla Grocery Store, 305 West Stilwell in downtown De Queen to welcome Estanislao & Hilda Zuniga as a new member.  La Perla has been in business for five years and offers grocery and gift items as well as authentic Mexican products.  There is an in-house butcher to take care of all your meat needs including special cuts on steaks as well as pork, chicken and fish.  La Perla is open daily from 8 am until 10:00 pm.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday, December 15th to welcome Stilwell’s Restaurant as a new member of the De Queen-Sevier County Chamber of Commerce.  The restaurant, located at the corner of Third & Stilwell in De Queen, is owned by Chad & Jessica Gallagher and Angelea Talley.

Stilwell’s opened in October and offers a great lunch with delicious sandwiches, soups, salads and more, a full coffee bar with free Wi-Fi, homemade pastries & desserts, a private dining room and catering.  They are open Monday thru Thursday from 7 am until 7 pm and Friday & Saturday from 7 am – 9 pm.  Call 870-642-2872.

CHAMBER HOSTS COFFEE FOR CONGRESSMAN

he De Queen/Sevier County Chamber of Commerce hosted a coffee Monday, January 4th for their members with U. S. Representative Mike Ross as special guest.

Congressman Ross addressed the crowd before opening the floor to questions that ranged from healthcare revision to I-49 and the freedom to choose your satellite channels.

Around thirty people attended the event Monday afternoon at the Multi-Culture building in De Queen.

 

Anything Grows Hosts Community Coffee

Terri & Michael Hunt, owners of Anything Grows in De Queen were gracious hosts December 1st at a coffee organized to give Chamber members, business leaders, and the public the opportunity to come together and share ideas.

Decorating the Courthouse Lawn for Christmas

Students from the De Queen School district met with board members on the courthouse square at 9:30 to begin decorating the courthouse trees and lawn.   

These De Queen High School students under the direction of Mrs. Yaneth Gonzalez served our community by decorating the Sevier County Courthouse for the upcoming Christmas season
